Welcome to my about Lisa webpage!  My name is Lisa Gronek Smith.  I am a certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist, or ESMT, certified by the number one facility in the United States, Equissage, Inc.©®™

I am a third generation horsewoman, and have truly been bitten by the horse bug!  I currently own a 14 year old Thoroughbred named Alluring "Lurleen".  We live in Byhalia, MS, where we ride dressage, trail ride, and jump.  Lurleen is truly the key to my sanity, and I would much rather be out at the barn with her even cleaning stalls, than anything else.  So, I guess you can really say that if anyone ever had the sickness, it is me.  My true passion for horses, and a deep desire for their well being led me to this awesome and fulfilling career.

At a routine visit from my veterinarian, I asked her to have a look at Lur's back.  It was very sensitive, and she would flinch at the slightest touch.  She deducted that it was a muscular problem, and to my surprise, recommended massage therapy.  Well, to be honest, I thought she was crazy.  I don't get massages myself, why would I get my horse massaged?  After trying everything under the sun to try to help Lurleen myself to no avail, I gave in and decided to try massage.  I had a terrible time finding an equine massage therapist to begin with, and an ever harder time finding one I liked, so I decided to learn myself.

I researched every type of equine massage, and narrowed my choice down to sports massage.  It is the least invasive and most natural form of massage, and has been around for generations.  I then researched every sports massage certification program I could find, found the best one, and obtained certification.  After seeing first hand the awesome results of sports massage on my own horse, I decided that every horse deserves this, and every horse owner needs to know about it.

My goal is to get the word out, and give every horse owner the opportunity to greatly enhance the life of their horse.

I service the West Tennessee, North Mississippi, and Northeast Arkansas areas.  Some of these cities are: Memphis, TN, Germantown, TN, Cordova, TN, Rossville, TN, Arlington, TN, Eads, TN, Brighton, TN, Byhalia, MS, Olive Branch, MS, Southaven, MS, Coldwater, MS, Marion, AR and all the surrounding areas.
